Switch Thomas is a man who has spent a fair portion of his time trying to understand how things work, and the rest of it proving that they rarely do so in the way one expects. He holds a BFA in Visual Effects and Animation, which is a respectable way of saying he learned to make convincing illusions for films and commercials, and occasionally for himself.
His trades have been many and not always polite enough to agree with one another—he has written code for websites, taken photographs in search of something worth keeping, and repaired cars when they refused to cooperate. These pursuits, taken together, have given him a working respect for both machines and the stubborn nature of reality.
When not occupied with such matters, he may be found climbing up things, riding waves, traveling roads that lead somewhere else, or conducting ongoing experiments in confection—all of which are successful, from a learning standpoint.
He subscribes to the notion that change is the only constant. With sympathy toward determinism, he suspects most outcomes were decided long before he arrived, though he goes on working anyway, if only to see how it all turns out.
